CIDR (Classless Inter-Domain Routing) is a notation used to describe ranges of IP addresses. A CIDR block such as 10.0.0.0/24 defines a network and the number of IP addresses it contains.
CIDR notation is commonly used when configuring private networks, subnets, firewall rules and cloud infrastructure.
